Bluetooth is a wireless communication standard that enables connection between the devices in a relatively small area, and hence it works fine in the personal area network (PAN) using radio frequency. Bluetooth technology uses radio-based links and all the connections between the devices are invisible and instantaneous.
Bluetooth enables us to connect to a wide variety of telecommunication and computing devices easily, without the need for cables that carries the electronic signals. Bluetooth makes wireless communication between the two devices in a localized area of a room of office or home very easily and also provides the opportunity of using the mobile data in different applications.
With the help of Bluetooth we can directly print our photos present in our mobile by sending a print request to a printer which on the other room in our house or office. Some of the features of the Bluetooth technology are, it uses radio waves in the range of 2.4GHz, and it supports multipoint communication not just point to point, it works in a small area of 10-15 meters, it offers data transfer speed of around 1 to 2Mbps, and Bluetooth chips are less expensive when compared to other wireless technologies.
The main advantage of Bluetooth technology is that, unlike infrared Bluetooth does not require line of sight between the connecting devices.
