C batteries are a kind of primary battery which is used for instruments that needs less power back up. It is the size of the battery from where it gets its name “C battery”. They are used for small toys that run on battery or teddy bears or small musical instruments. Since these devices do not need a high powered battery therefore these C sized batteries suit them best.
These batteries are also known as a cell because they are made of a single chamber. The output of these batteries is 15.Volts. These c batteries have a greater voltage output than the usual nickel metal hydride batteries and nickel cadmium batteries. These batteries have an output of 1.2 volts. Even though the voltage output is different but the electrical energy is similar to AA, AAA batteries. These batteries run longer than the AA and AAA batteries because of their size. Since C batteries are larger in size, this enables them to store a greater volume of anode substance which helps in the electrical functioning of the battery.
These batteries are easily available in the market and are not very expensive. These are not the rechargeable types that we can use it repeatedly. They have a higher capacity, hence run longer. C batteries are definitely a user friendly cell and are environment friendly too. They should not be left where there is too much heat or moisture. Most people don’t know it by the name but C batteries are definitely used in many appliances.
