The observed trend in all the next generation gadgets/devices is that they are getting smaller in size by the day, so therein lies the basic idea of this NextGen concept laptop. Termed D-Roll or Digital-Roll, this latest master-piece of innovation works like any other regular laptop but can be rolled up to be a back-pack for much convenient transportation. Upon rolling, it resembles an artist’s tube-like sheet holder.
DROLL Laptop Features
The D-Roll consists of a roll-up OLED screen and a slide-out keyboard; the remaining peripherals provided are a mouse and a detachable webcam (which can be placed on your wrist while it is not attached.) The D-Roll has two modes of functioning : (i) Full function Mode and, (ii) E-mail mode.
In full function mode, as the name suggests, the D-Roll is unfolded fully and all the peripherals are attached, whereas, in the E-mail mode, the main display screen is switched off and a smaller screen attached to the main body of the tube is switched on, using which the users can view and write e-mails.
The detachable webcam provides an additional feature of capturing photographs and recording videos. The webcam and the mouse can also act as the end caps for the tube-like laptop case. The straps of the case also play a dual role, as they have the USB ports for attaching external USB devices.
Efficiency
The D-Roll isn’t only all about eye-catching looks and uber-cool features. It is also quite well adept in handling issues that are difficult to deal with in traditional laptops. For example, heating has always been an issue in our traditional laptops; we are always complaining about how hot the laptop gets after using it for a while. Well, the D-Roll has an answer to this problem too. D-Roll has a unique cooling system, which creates air flow to cool the system inside out. It just uses the simple phenomenon of creating air circulation, which in turn acts like an exhaust and sends the heat from inside to outside.
So, we can safely say that this gadget isn’t only unique in terms of looks but also is uniquely efficient.
Another feature which makes this a very user-friendly device is the use of ergonomic keyboard. This allows the user to place their hands and arms in a more natural and comfortable position while typing.

On paper, this looks like a fantastic piece of imagination which if implemented will certainly create a stir in the world of technological devices.
