Dell XPS 430-121B

In the year 2007, Dell’s XPS 420 was released which focused on digital video and some other light updates. Just after a year Dell came up with XPS 430-121B which is a lightweight version of Dell’s customizable media-centric system.

The 420-121B has many computer accessories including a dedicated graphics card, a TV tuner and an aggressive and powerful quad-core processor. At the very first glance the XPS 430-121B’s chassis appearance is similar to the XPS 420 like a stoic glossy black finish which exudes subtle type. A dual layer DVD RW burner occupies one slot out of the three slots in the front panel and the other two are for any kind of extra storage.

There is a small digital media card reader placed between the hard drives and USB, FireWire and audio ports offering direct access for the SD, MemoryStick, CompactFlash, and SmartMedia cards. Beginning from the top one will notice an Ethernet port and the standard set of audio ports that includes digital output along with five additional USB plugs. But Dell doesn’t include a wireless network. It also makes good utilization of the top of the tower with a textured tray for external accessories and a quick release handle which pops off the side panel screws. It also proves itself in terms of multitasking with credits to faster CPU and memory speeds. There are some points which are missing in this model like it doesn’t come with many advanced features like Blu-ray, wireless internet, Bluetooth and a remote which extends the home theater ability of a system.
