Everyone is aware of the green movement, but some bright young lady has come up with the concept of running mobile phones from soft drinks. Instead of using the usual lithium batteries, she filled the phone with Coca Cola.

The bio battery uses the enzymes contained in the sugar to produce electricity, but the main advantage is that once the battery dies, all that is left behind is water and oxygen. No dangerous chemicals to get rid of here.
Nokia showed some interest but decided to pull out since they wanted new innovations for the near future. However, other companies are developing their own bio batteries and these should hit the market in around five year’s time.

The scourge of everyone’s life is the phone battery that goes dead at just the wrong moment. But help is coming in the near future. A nuclear battery is being developed that will only need to be recharged every few months or so.
The battery, not really nuclear by the way, is thinner than a penny, called the radioisotope battery, and has a million times more charge than batteries that are used now.

Not satisfied with the size of the battery, the researchers are working to make it small enough to fit watches, phones and any other gadget that requires a battery. The one they are currently working on should fit commercial gadgets but the final product could be thinner than a human hair. Who said that technology was dull?
