So what is PC2700 memory type? This uses the computer system memory and acts as a temporary storage area during the system operations. It will transfer data at the rate of 2700 MB/s so it is described as PC2700. Released at early 2002, it focused primarily on the Intel P4 systems. This functions as the storage place for programs that support data files during the system operation. Not only that the PC2700 uses the Double Data Rate ram in order to double the RAM modules with the data speeds which will in turn double the operations per clock cycle.
This PC2700 is available from 128 MB up to 4GB and you may even come across few specialized modules with even high capacities and also error checking for the applications. But there is one important factor you need to be aware of. That is if the power is shut off the data will be lost, the reason being it is volatile memory type. So you should always turn off the computer and then take out the power cord. Be opening the memory slots you will be able to find the RAM bays. Now open the RAM bay and push down the plastic locking clamps which are at the either side of the RAM bay. If there is already a RAM you can release it so that it can be replaced. Now you can install the PC2700 memory and align it with the memory stick in the slot and push it down.
