
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the legend of Tomb Raiders and Lara Croft, the ultimate action heroine of all times, Eidos Interactive launched Tomb Raiders Anniversary edition for Wii, XBOX 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and Windows. For today’s review we will assess the Wii version for the game.
The Storyline
Lara is hired by a powerful nexus to retrieve a mythical object called Scion. During her quest to find it though, she realises she has been pawned in the scheme of things towards something much bigger and dangerous. She then continues on the quest of her own to find out more about the mystical object.

The dynamic world allows multiple playthrough options and also opens up new places and ways to explore.
- Startling enemy encounters. Encounter fierce animal and supernatural enemies, wolves, bears, crocodiles, horrific monsters and of course, the T Rex. New and improved AI means that all enemies will exhibit a more diverse behaviour set, providing improved combat challenges for the player.
- Directors Commentary. The original Tomb Raider game designer, Toby Gard and Tomb Raider: Anniversary’s Game Director Jason Botta from Crystal Dynamics, provides an unlockable commentary on how this game was made, with some previously undisclosed secrets from Toby about the original Tomb Raider game.
Tomb Raiders Anniversary on Wii
Its incredibly easy to manage the weaponry, the fine moves and leaps, and all the ‘Lara’ brand acrobatics with precision using Wii controls. May it be aiming the camera, flashlight and the weapons using Wii remote or manoeuvre the nunchuck for Lara’s seamless moves, climbs and leaps, it all fits in perfectly well.
With a strong and involving game play, this version is worth the bucks in every way.
