OLYMPUS E-450 Camera Review

This latest offering from Olympus is an entry level DSLR (Digital single-lens reflex) camera and is one of the smallest and lightest cameras in the market in its category. This will be available in the markets, sometime in mid-2009. The camera comes with the Three Art Filters: Pop Art, Pin Hole and Soft Focus, which has been the new feature among the latest Olympus cameras. According to Olympus, the three art filters bring a lot more creativity and freedom to experiment to the E-450.

Olympus E 450 Specifications:

  • 10 megapixels live MOS sensor
  • A highly improved, 2.7-inch Hyper-crystal LCD which comes with a viewing angle of 176 degree
  • A very efficient and powerful TruePic III image processor
  • Live view function with AF capability, which will make photography a lot more easier and better

Other important features:

  • E-450 has a very unique Supersonic wave filter to protect against accumulation of dust.
  • A wide range of sensitivity, ISO 100 to 1600
  • Face detection feature
  • Shadow adjustment feature
  • 28 shooting modes: 18 different-scene modes, 5 Creative Modes and 5 Exposure Modes
  • Much more enhanced white-balancing
  • An option to see a preview of your shot, in case any changes need to be made
  • Along with the camera, you get an additional 2 lens-kit which includes: ED  14-42mm f 3.5/5.6 and ED 40-150mm f 4.0/5.6 Zuiko zoom lenses

Olympus E 450-The Verdict

Priced at around $700, this DSLR from Olympus is a good buy for all those budding photographers who are looking for DSLR cameras, but don’t have the means to buy an expensive one. This is a camera which is smart, handy and more importantly also scores high on the performance chart.
