As if the remote control had not undergone enough transformations in its time, now there is one that looks like a magic wand. No buttons or arrows to contend with, all that needs to be done is a wave or two to change channels, raise or lower the sound level, or even start to record a program.

This is all a bit ‘Harry Potter’, but a great gadget for someone who has just about everything else. The remote answers to thirteen gestures and will vibrate when the battery is running low and goes into standby mode when not moved for a minute to preserve the batteries.
Moving on from Harry Potter, some people like miniatures of prehistoric animals, but with a difference. There is a great wooden dinosaur puzzle that is quite easy to put together, but this one has a motor that allows it to move.

It roars and reacts to sound, or it can be controlled by remote. This is sure to be a great conversation piece, or just to make someone jump in surprise.
For those who just love to bowl, but can never knock all the pins down, the answer lies in the remote control bowling ball. This little beauty can be remote controlled to catch even the loneliest pin while missing the gutter at the same time.

The only problem is though that it is a staggering $1,500 and is obvious even to the untrained eye. Better stick to the traditional methods me thinks.
