SanDisk Product Releases Feb 2010

A new accouncement from SanDisk this week says they started shipping two new solid state memory products. A 64 GB SD XC Card which can be used in cameras, camcorders, portable devices, and whatever else that it fits in. The product would find application for HD Video- longer recording on a single card.Given the formats and data rate specifications for cameras, SanDisk claims that the card can hold up to 9 hours of HD Content. The humungous 64 GB capacity complies with SD 3.0 specs and has a Class 4 speed rating for up to 15 MBps read speed.

“SDXC is the successor to the popular SDHC card format,” says Susan Park, director of retail product marketing at SanDisk. “The 64GB SanDisk Ultra SDXC card delivers the speed and capacity consumers need for extended HD video recording and improved rapid shooting of still images.”
The 64 GB SanDisk Ultra SDXC card is available now for $349.99 and comes with a lifetime limited warranty.

The second product range comprises of two brand new solid state drives of 60GB and 120GB. SanDisk claims the drives to have write lifetime of 80 terabyte, with a 10 year limited warranty and at least 5 years of useful life. The SanDisk 3G SSD offers up to 220 MB/s read and 120 MB/s write speeds. The drives are Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Windows 7/XP/Vista and Linux compatible. The SSD interface complies with SATA 2.6 (3.0 GB/s) and ATA-3 standards.

The SanDisk 3G SSD is available now for $222.29 for the 60 GB and $399.99 for the $120 GB models.
