Toshiba Satellite L505-S5966

The new Toshiba Satellite L505 is the decent-configuration budget notebook that comes for $549. The mainstream notebook features a 15.6-inch widescreen display with 16:9 aspect ratio. But, the notebook is not meant for hardcore use with gaming or multitasking. With its pretty ordinary processor and peripheral configuration, you can just perform daily routine office work, check e-mails, etc.

For its price, the notebook design will keep you more than satisfied. It features a lid and keyboard deck with Toshiba’s Fusion Finish with grey Breeze pattern. With dimensions of 15.1 x 10.2 x 1.6 inches and weight of 6 pounds, the new Satellite L505 is not exactly meant for mobility. The keyboard has a separate numeric keypad which will definitely make businessmen and professional workers happy. But for adding a numeric keypad, they have cramped rest of the keyboard which can be a little frustrating at start. Power button and volume controls are present just over the keyboard. The notebook features two really small speakers which are not really ideal for watching movies.

The notebook is powered by AMD Athlon X2 QL-65 or Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 processors and 3 or 4GB RAM available. The worst feature of the notebook is its battery, lasting for just 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The notebook features two USB ports, modem, Kensington Lock slot, VGA port, Ethernet, audio in/out port, eSATA port and other regular ports. Sleep-and-Charge and HDMI technology is not supported by this notebook. Other features include a 1.3MP webcam above display with decent image quality.
