Two New GTA IV Episodes in 2010

Banking on the fantastic reception that GTA IV got earlier this year when it was released for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. The game, considered as the best Grand Theft Auto game ever has won many critics choice award at events like the Game Developers Conference and the E3 expo earlier this year.

The GTA IV family is expected to expand with two brand new downloadable episodes expected from Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games. The year 2010 will see the release of two new episode followed by the release of GTA V the following year. Two episodes current available for console platform are The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Two more episodes are expected in 2010 with completely different formats than the previous ones. Experts believe that there is a strong chance of GTA title releasing for the PlayStation 2 next year.

Earlier this year, Rockstar finished the GTA IV earlier than the due date to unveil the game at the E3 expo and grab attention, which it definitely succeeded at. The latest games from Rockstar, GTA: Chinatown Wars released for PSP and the GTA DLC for Xbox 360 and PS3 have been super hits. Take-Two will look to improve their earnings by reducing its dependence on GTA franchise for performance. Rockstar’s biggest franchise, Kaufman Bros. prompted Take-Two to ‘buy’ two AAA ratings to prove that the publisher no longer needs to rely on GTA franchise for performance.
