None of the Sony Ericsson mobile phone models have experienced such fond anticipation and excitement surrounding its release as Xperia X1. BlogBits team decided to nose around the smartphone to see what the fuss is all about. Here’s the verdict:
Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Product Features:
Following is a list of key product features for Xperia X1
- Xperia X1 panel interface – This feature allows you to change the look and feel of your phone enabling you to have 4 different plug-ins for time, weather, calendar and news feed display. It also adds to the ease of navigation between different multimedia experiences and what more – its touch screen!
- Equipped with the latest operating system, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.
- Web Browser Support – You can browse the web using Internet Explorer Mobile or Opera Web Browser 9.5
- Wi-Fi Support – X1 is Wi-Fi enabled
- Push Email enabled to make sure you receive your mails instantly
- Microsoft ActiveSync – Lets you sync your data with a compatible PC

- Web Feeds – The RSS reader integrated with the Xperia panel enables you to receive feeds from selected websites and blogs
- Bluetooth Wireless Technology – Xperia enables you to connect to several Bluetooth devices at a time to let you multitask
- Bluetooth Audio Streaming – This feature uses Bluetooth A2DP technology allowing you to control the audio playlist using external accessory interface
- Location Based Services – Xperia X1 doubles up as a GPS navigator with A-GPS support and comes installed with Google Maps
- Integrated Camera with Photo Light – The integrated 3.2 megapixel camera lets you take pictures in portrait and landscape setting and Photo Light is an aspirant flash for low visibility
- Video Clips – Like any high end phone the video clips can be stored on phone or a compatible memory card
- Arc Slider design and QWERTY keyboard – These give Xperia X1 its unique upright-screen-wide-keyboard look, and also adds to the ease while using X1 to reply to mails, or web browsing.
- Multiple Input – You can operate using 4 different methods – touchscreen, using your finger or the stylus provided, optical joystick, 4-way navigation key or the QWERTY keyboard
- USB 2.0 Mass Storage & MicroSD Card Slot – You can store all the pictures and files using MicroSD Card, internal memory or a USB 2.0 device, say a usb flash drive
- X1 Support – Purchase of every X1 comes with an X1 support card which lets you access the X1 support networkwhich helps you get the most out of your X1.
Having said that, the one thing that strikes us as not up to the mark is the 3.2 megapixel camera, after all the noise Sony Ericsson could have done better than that.
