Unlike many mobile phones the iPhone doesn't feature a built-in FM radio, and the same goes for its smaller cousin, the iPod Touch. If you're a big radio fan frustrated at finding something that Apple's hero products don't do, maybe you'd be interested in the Griffin iFM.
Plug iFM into your iPod and it wakes up the Apple radio control software already embedded in your iPod. You'll see a new main menu choice: Radio.
Got iPhone or iPod touch? Plug in iFM, and use Griffin's iFM Radio Controller app (a free download from Apple's App Store) to control your FM radio experience using your Multi-Touch display. See compatible iPod and iPhone models below.
Either way, iFM provides an intuitive interface for controlling FM radio that's completely integrated with the way you use your iPhone or iPod every day.
iFM also works with Griffin iFM Radio Browser. Imagine an app that does for your radio listening what your web browser does for web pages. iFM Radio Browser makes it easy (and fun) to hunt for radio programming that suits your fancy.
NOTE: The multitasking feature of iOS 4 does not currently support apps that use hardware integration. This means that if you are listening to FM radio, and switch to another app, the FM radio audio stops. It's possible that an update to the OS will allow devices like the iFM to take advantage of the multitasking feature.
