Recently a new faster version of the USB standard has been launched called USB 2.0 or Hi-Speed USB .
The transfer rate is 480 Mb/sec or 60 MB/sec, which is 40x faster than USB 1.1. Most current PC's will have these faster USB Ports available.
USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 are fully compatible with each other so a USB 2.0 device will function at a slower speed in a USB 1.1 device.

The 32gb flash drive I received from you was of excellent value and efficiency. With this I was able to store in excess of 500 tiff images at 60mg each along with relevant text, rapidly, neatly and easily. I posted this, again easily, to my graphic designer who lives in another country. The alternative would have been to store all on seperate DVDs and the process would have been much more complicated, not to mention time consuming. I am truly pleased with the item and the delivery did not take long either. I will certainly use Memory Bits again in the future and have already recommended it to a number of colleagues. I was looking for a high capacity USB drive for back up of specific files - this was the best combination of capacity/price I could find. My order was processed and delivered immediately. Unfortunately the product sent was faulty - stuff happens! - but mememorybits sorted the replacement just as quickly. Working fine - very pleased with the product, and delighted with the service!
